Fondé en 1889 à Saint Paul, dans le Minnesota, Reed & Stem a ouvert son bureau new-yorkais en 1903 après avoir remporté le concours de conception de Grand Central Terminal. Par la suite connu sous les noms de Fellheimer & Wagner, puis de Wank Adams Slavin Associates (WASA), le département dédié à la préservation du cabinet a été créé en 1979 au sein de la pratique d’architecture et d’ingénierie WASA. Aujourd’hui connu sous le nom d’Architectural Preservation Studio, DPC, le cabinet est devenu une société indépendante en 2015, avec pour mission la préservation et la restauration de bâtiments historiques et contemporains.

L’équipe professionnelle du studio a contribué à certains des projets de préservation les plus importants des deux dernières décennies, notamment le Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum et Fallingwater de Frank Lloyd Wright, les historiques demeures The Breakers et Château-sur-Mer à Newport, Rhode Island, ainsi que le Bayard–Condict Building de Louis Sullivan à New York. Later known as Fellheimer & Wagner, and subsequently Wank Adams Slavin Associates (WASA), the firm’s preservation group was established in 1979 as a department within the WASA architecture and engineering practice. Today operating as Architectural Preservation Studio, DPC, the firm became an independent company in 2015 with a mission dedicated to the preservation and restoration of both historic and contemporary buildings.

The studio’s professional team has contributed to some of the most significant preservation projects of the past two decades, including Frank Lloyd Wright’s Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum and Fallingwater, the historic Breakers and Château-sur-Mer mansions in Newport, Rhode Island, and Louis Sullivan’s Bayard–Condict Building in New York City. Their portfolio also includes theaters, academic buildings, courthouses, museums, and numerous other landmark structures.
